Quality Planning offering Cost Advantage and Flexibility
Strategic Modularity brings the value of early phase
planning to facility design and manufacturing system
design.
Mission
Work with clients to develop robust investments in facilities
and automation that make the client's strategy happen.
Value proposition
The company name "Strategic Modularity" describes
what we do and is also our value proposition. We work
with companies to define a modular architecture for
office space plans and automation systems. A properly
defined architecture enables the company to manage complexity,
execute projects concurrently, and develop robust plans
under uncertainty. A well defined planning process provides
a framework for making major decisions, including automation,
space, decision-making, staffing, budget and timeline.
What we do
Strategic Modularity, Inc. works with companies that
are planning to move to a new facility or are planning
to automate some or all of their processes. Both types
of projects require the client to commit a large amount
of capital, with long term implications, in the face
of uncertain market conditions. Productivity and the
quality of office space are tightly linked. Product/process
design and automation system architecture are tightly
linked. Using principles of efficiency and modularity,
the investment is aligned with the flexibility needed
to support the client's strategy. This provides for
a cost effective operation with significantly reduced
risk over the life of the investment.
Services
Integrated Space Planning. Our facility preplanning
services provide the client with independent advice.
The client's needs are carefully evaluated and summarized
through a decision making process, resulting in readiness
to retain a commercial real estate broker and architect.

Automation Planning. Our automation planning
services provide the client with independent advice.
The client's needs are carefully evaluated before the
system integrators who build machines are significantly
involved. Full automation is usually not required and
manual processes together with semiautomatic lean workcells
are evaluated. For those process steps that require
automation, a justification is prepared. Planning shows
how automation is integrated with manual operations.
Using principles of efficiency and modularity, the investment
is aligned with the flexibility needed to support the
manufacturing strategy. This provides for a cost effective
operation with significantly reduced risk over the life
of the investment.
